CHALLENGE
The challenge was to balance fun, creativity, and safety within a limited airport environment. The play zone needed to work for different age groups while reducing potential risks during movement and play. Every element—from the overall structure and access points to the placement of play features—needed to feel safe, open, and easy for parents to supervise.
RESEARCH
I explored children’s play environments, airport family spaces, age-inclusive play concepts, spatial circulation, soft-edged structures, and child-friendly environments. Particular attention was given to movement, visibility, accessibility, proportions, and how different play elements could be arranged to create a safe yet stimulating experience.
CONCEPT
I developed the 3D kiosk and spatial concept from the initial idea through visual presentation, focusing on both the creative experience and practical usability. My role included spatial planning, 3D modelling, play-zone layout, structure design, visualisation, material and colour direction, child-friendly detailing, and presentation development—bringing the concept to life before physical execution.
