CHALLENGE
The biggest challenge was turning a highly imaginative concept into a fully controllable 3D environment within a very tight deadline. The animation needed to work across extreme camera perspectives—from ultra-wide establishing shots to detailed close-ups. This meant every object had to be individually created, positioned, and animated, with the pixel aesthetic maintained consistently throughout every frame.
RESEARCH
I explored pixel-art animation, 3D environment design, camera language, lens perspectives, architectural modelling, and location-based visual storytelling. I studied how different focal lengths and camera distances affect scale and detail, then adapted the approach so the same visual world could hold up from wide environmental compositions to close-up animated moments.
CONCEPT
As Art Director, I translated the Creative Director’s concept into a practical CGI production system. I worked across 3D modelling, environment creation, object development, camera composition, lens variation, pixel-by-pixel animation, visual consistency, and final motion execution. Managing the complexity of multiple locations and camera perspectives under a tight deadline required both creative problem-solving and strong technical control.
